ลมโค่นต้นไม้

มารย่อมสามารถทำลายบุคคล
ผู้ตกเป็นทาสของความสวยงาม
ไม่ควบคุมการแสดงออก
ไม่รู้จักประมาณในโภชนาหาร
เกียจคร้านและอ่อนแอ
เหมือนลมแรงพัดโค่นต้นไม้ที่ไม่แข็งแรง

As the wind overthrows a weak tree,
So does Mara overpower him
Who lives attached to sense pleasures,
Who lives with his sense uncontrolled,
Who knows not moderation in his food,
And who is indolent and in active.

วิวาททุ่มเถียง....

คนทั่วไปมักนึกไม่ถึงว่า ตนกำลังพินาศ
เพราะวิวาททุ่มเถียงกัน
ส่วนผู้รู้ความจริงเช่่นนั้น
ย่อมไม่ทะเลาะกันอีกต่อไป

The common people know not
That in this quarrel they will perish,
But those who realize this truth
Have their quarrels calmed thereby.

เวรระงับด้วย...

แต่ไหนแต่ไรมา ในโลกนี้
เวรไม่มีระงับด้วยการจองเวร
มีแต่ระงับด้วยการไม่จองเวร
นี้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ตายตัว

At any time in this world,
Hatred never ceases by hatred,
But through non-hatred it ceases.
Thisis an eternal law.

ไม่คิดอาฆาต

ใครไม่คิดอาฆาตว่า
"มันด่าเรา มันทำร้ายเรา
มันเอาชนะเรา มันขโมยของเรา"
เวรของเขาย่อมระงับ

"He abused me, he beat me,
He defeated me, he robbed me'
In those who harbour not such thoughts
Hatred finds its end.

คิดอาฆาต

ใครมัวคิดอาฆาตว่า
"มันด่าเรา มันทำร้ายเรา
มันเอาชนะเรา มันขโมยของเรา"
เวรของเขาไม่มีทางระงับ

ใจเป็นผู้นำ 2

ใจเป็นผู้นำทุกสิ่งทุกอย่าง ใจเป็นใหญ่
ทุกอย่างสำเร็จได้ด้วยใจ
ถ้าคนเรามีใจบริสุทธิ์
การพูด การกระทำก็พลอยบริสุทธิ์ไปด้วย
เพราะการพูดและการกระทำอันบริสุทธิ์นั้น
ความสุขย่อมตามสนองเขา
เหมือนเงาติดตามตน

Mind foreruns all mental conditions,
Mind is chief, mind-made are they;
If one speaks or acts with a pure mind,
Then happiness follows him.

ใจเป็นผู้นำ

ใจเป็นผู้นำทุกสิ่งทุกอย่าง ใจเป็นใหญ่
ทุกอย่างสำเร็จได้ด้วยใจ
ถ้าคนเรามีใจชั่วเสียแล้ว
การพูด การกระทำก็พลอยชั่วไปด้วย
เพราะการพูดชั่วทำชั่วนั้นทุกข์ย่อมตามสนองเขา
เหมือนล้อหมุนตามรอยเท้าโค
